Can Amoxicillin (Moxin/Tycil/Moxacil) cause breathing difficulties and dizziness?

Hi,   Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections like chest infections including pneumonia, dental abscesses, urinary tract infections and many more. It is used in children, often to treat ear infections, chest infections and many more. This medication is a penicillin type antibiotic. Antibodies like Amoxicillin induced delayed or late phase allergic reactions that can happen after the entire course of antibiotics is consumed.

Sign and symptoms of delayed or late phase allergic reactions are generally the same as those for immediate allergic reactions. Amoxicillin induced delayed allergic reactions are itching, rashes, swelling of lips, tongue, throat, face, eyes, hands or feet, wheezing, breathing difficulties, dizziness, hypotension and hypotension related headache etc. In such cases of allergic reaction, you should consult your Doctor promptly for medical help and stop taking this medication immediately.

Take care. Let me know if I can assist you further.
